GATRAC cooperation partners decided to terminate their project

Bratislava/Leipzig/Prague/Berlin, 23.09.2013.

ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH, GRTgaz Deutschland Transport GmbH (both Germany), NET4GAS s.r.o. (Czech Republic) and eustream s.a. (Slovakia), the cooperation partners of GATRAC -  a voluntary initiative for the offer of bundled cross-border capacity products - decided terminating their common project as of the end of September 2013. "This is the consequence of a changed and still changing national and European regulatory environment that the marketing of GATRAC products have to comply with. However, we are confident that with full implementation of the adjusted rules for the European gas market we will soon again offer cross-border bundled products, but on a different manner." commented the gas Transmission System Operators (TSO) consistently.

GATRAC was established in 2007 as a bilateral agreement of NET4GAS and ONTRAS in order to support cross-border transmission. GRTgaz Deutschland and eustream joint in 2011 and 2012. However, the ongoing regulation with the target to reduce capacity platforms led to the decision of terminating the project at this point in time.
