The Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) plans to drop the charge for the conversion of L gas to H gas at cross-border and market area interconnection points (GÜP and MÜP) from 2020. This became apparent in the final draft of the ‘REGENT’ decision published on 17 October; the public consultation on the draft ends on 17 December. The BNetzA justifies its decision with the fact that transit customers do not profit from the conversion, or do so only negligibly. As a consequence, charges at exit points to downstream network operators, end customers and storage facilities will rise.
Shippers are advised to publish their respective position in the consultation.
